Chef Conor & Chef Suzanne

Today is Day 5 of “Foodie” Week and we are featuring Chef Suzanne Vizethann & Chef Conor Hubbard of “The Hungry Peach”!

The Hungry Peach, owned and operated by Atlanta natives Chef Suzanne Vizethann and Conor Hubbard, infuses southern hospitality with gourmet dishes from the highest quality of fresh ingredients. Whether you desire the comforts of fine dining in your own home or a deliciously prepared boxed lunch, The Hungry Peach serves unique food experiences combining Chef Suzanne’s love of refined cuisine coupled with Conor’s handcrafted presentations.

I was able to catch up with Chef Suzanne and learn more about “The Hungry Peach” and her experience at the Food & Wine Festival.

Here is what she had to say!

Alisha: Your food is “simple, fresh and fun!” What are a couple of the local resources that you like to use for your fresh ingredients?

Chef Suzanne: We always use fresh ingredients and try to use as many local products as possible.  We buy a lot of our produce from Lucy’s Market; a small boutique market in Buckhead providing fresh and organic produce, www.lucysmarket.com .  We have also started buying some of our dairy from Southern Swiss Dairy; a local farm in Georgia.

Alisha: What inspired you to start the BYOB Dinners? It is a great concept, but one that you do not see a lot in the Atlanta area.

Chef Suzanne: I have always wanted to find another cooking outlet outside of the café; where I could be in front of an audience and share my passion with others.  Jonathan St. Hilaire, pastry chef and owner of Bakeshop in Midtown, has always wanted to start a dinner concept out of his bakery. After several conversations, BYOBakeshop Dinners was born, www.byobdinners.com  For me, food is meant to be enjoyed amongst friends in a comfortable, casual atmosphere; it brings people together and BYOB dinners were designed to do just that.

Alisha: Do you and your partner have plans to expand outside of Catering and the Cafe’ into a full service restaurant?

Chef Suzanne: I think every small business plans on expansion in the hopes of growing their business.  We currently offer a number of items at Lucy’s Market, from our sweet basil chicken salad to our heavenly chocolate truffle brownies. We are very fortunate to have an extremely supportive clientele and we hope to remain successful and continue growing in the upcoming years. We are looking forward to exciting things to come!

Alisha: What has been one of the highlight’s for you while participating in the Food & Wine Festival this past weekend?

Chef Suzanne: Meeting the other chefs and festival goers, I love talking to people that share our common passion of food. It was great meeting so many people in our community and sharing in such a landmark event for Atlanta. Conor and I are both natives of Atlanta so it is a real honor to be a part of such a remarkable event.
