Kanye West and Kim Kardashian to Launch a Shoe Line? + MTV VMA Promo
Word around town is that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian (the couple you love to hate) are coming together to create a high-end shoe line. Last week, the couple met with Francois-Henri Pinault, CEO of PPR and Salma Hayek’s husband, to discuss shoe business. A source revealed to RadarOnline.com, “Francois’s company owns Louis Vuitton, which Kim and Kanye are obviously both big fans of. Nothing is set in stone yet, but they’re really excited about the potential footwear line.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m not really surprised. The two share a love for fashion. Kim owns Dash stores, Kardashian Kollection and Belle Noel while Kanye has designed sneakers for Louis Vuitton, released two pair of his own Yeezy’s, and presented his DW collection, which included the $5800 Giuseppe Zanotti shoe collaboration earlier this year. Combined, the two have a pretty decent fashion track record.
Although, I am not surprised about them creating a shoe line together, I am not quite sure if it will be successful. Kim has not had as much experience designing high-end shoes as her boyfriend, but Kanye did not receive positive praise on his collection or shoe collaboration with Zanotti. I guess we will have to wait and see. I see a super strappy, super high with a hint of velcro pump in Kimye’s future.
