2012 Primetime Emmy Awards Fashion
Last night, the 2012 Primetime Emmys took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Television stars stormed the red carpet, some in their best, some not so much. Fashion on the red carpet was very safe and simple, but many did it quite well. Yellows, reds, blues and sparkle were major trends at last night’s show. Check inside to see who stole the show and who needed to go.
Hannah Simone looked elegant in her yellow, one-strap Emilio Pucci chiffon gown. Claire Danes choose Lanvin to cover her baby bump. Julianne Moore rocked a yellow Dior Couture long sleeved dressed that went perfect with her red hair. Julie Bowen surprised me with her smoky eye and voluminous hair in Monique Lhuillier. Kaley Cuoco was a part of the yellow trend in Angel Sanchez.
Kat Dennings showed major cleavage in J. Mendel. Ginnifer Goodwin look simply beautiful with a pixie cut in Monique Lhuillier. Mayim Bialik was a little too covered for my liking, but she wore a chiffon Pamella Roland gown. Julia Louis-Dreyfus (who never ages) looked stunning in a form fitting Vera Wang gown.
Zooey Deschanel was another surprise. She showed a little cleavage in Reem Acra. Julianne Hough looked gorgeous in a mermaid-esque gown by Georges Hobeika. Heidi Klum is best dressed in my opinion. She stole the red carpet with double high slits in Alexandre Vauthier. Nicole Kidman rocked an Antonio Berardi dress with blue accents. Sofia Vergara (who is 40, by the way) showed how to rock curves in her shimmery halter gown by Zuhair Murad.
Kerry Washington shined in a gorgeous Vivienne Westwood gown. Amy Poehler went for a shimmery black halter dress by Stella McCartney. Her dress was nice, but overall she was boring. Lucy Liu glimmered on the red carpet in Atelier Versace. I loved her hair and makeup. Hayden Panettiere went for a more mature gown, and I think she pulled it off. Her sparkly and blue tulle gown was by Marchesa.
Other hits of the night…
Padma Lakshmi in Monique Lhuillier.
January Jones in Zac Posen.
Tina Fey in Vivienne Westwood.
Other misses of the night…
Ashley Judd in Carolina Herrara. I could definitely go without her hair (yuck!) and the giant bow in the back.
Connie Britton wore Andrew Gn. The dress is really pretty, but her hair ruined the entire look.
Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli. She was just a big floral mess.
